Product development is the process that turns an idea into a feasible
blueprint ready for production. This process includes everything from the pattern and construction
methods to the material choices and the testing of your product. Yes, you need these steps, you can
see them listed on our “Services” tab. The level of professionalism at each and every one of these
steps will provide a more solid foundation to support the success of your manufacturing, the
minimization of problems, and ultimately the success of your product.
I designed my product myself, can we go straight to production?
Maybe yes, maybe no. It’s very dependent on the current status of your
product and what details and development you have already undergone (see above). Unless you have
worked with someone trained and experienced in professional production, there are likely a few
things we will need to adjust or modify to get your product ready for the cutting. We always want to
plan ahead, measure twice, cut once. With a bit of time in the product evaluation and development
stage, we can save time and money down the road by preventing mistakes. To find out what the next
steps are for your product, please reach out to us and we can make a plan.
Do you provide a sample for free?
No. We do not do gratis sample creation unless a contract for further work
is signed. We charge $50/hr for sample production, and the total time required is depending on
complexity and level of development. This process allows us to gather the information necessary to
provide you with an accurate quote and to determine the level of development still required prior to
production.
Do you supply fabric?
Most clients will provide their own fabric, but if you are looking for new
options or have not yet found a source, we are here to help. We will work with you to determine
which fabrics are best for your product and how those can be sourced. Material cost is not included
in the base-level cut and sew production.
Do you have minimums?
It will always be project-dependent, and variable based on circumstance,
but there is no concrete minimum. We are here to help your product and company flourish. We can
accommodate anything from one-offs (prototypes, fit samples, production samples, etc) to large scale
manufacturing.
How can I get a price quote for my idea or products?
Unfortunately, we cannot give you estimates or “ballpark” prices until we
have all the details of your project. Please fill out our “contact us” form with as much information
as you have, or send your sample(s) for us to review. From there we can schedule an in-person or
video appointment. Reach out via email at vannebjorn@gmail.com
What form of payment do you accept?
Checks, direct deposit, and credit card (+3% fee).
What turnaround time can I expect?
Again, it is dependent on the complexity and scale of project as well as
the other projects in-house at the time, but from the time that all materials have arrived, we can
complete sample orders in 1-2 weeks, more technical design in 3-4 weeks, and most production orders
in 4-8 weeks. Production should be scheduled as early as possible to ensure timely turnaround.
Production is prioritized in the order contracts are signed and down payments are received. Design
work and product consultation timelines are ongoing.
